The Association of Cost Engineers

In September 2009, The Association of Cost Engineers launched the online training for Cost Estimating and Project Control Modules (Project Management e-Learning Curriculum).

This online training is the first step at the basic level. Many members have now completed the curriculum and obtained their certificates, which carry CPD points. The feedback has been positive, with requests for further advanced online training. A Cost E members come from  a very wide spectrum from graduate members, project control professionals through to very experienced retired members located in many UK & overseas locations, accessing the courses from anywhere in the World any time of day or night.

Members make practical use of the principles of engineering cost management which embrace activities such as estimating, cost control, value engineering, planning, construction management, investment appraisal and risk analysis. The modules which have been developed from September 2009 following five months development work and testing with Future learning Systems have addressed many of these areas of competence and form a good introduction to new entrants in the field, or a very helpful refresher in areas that have not been practiced for some while.

The Online progress reporting & help facilities have been more than helpful to members and the administration of the scheme has been made very easy with the support of Future learning Systems.
